Episode 27: Autism and the Church

In this episode of the Kuyperian Commentary Podcast, Pastor Uri Brito discusses the role of the Church toward the autistic community. His guests on this episode are Tim and Christine Russell.

“Parenting a child with autism is a difficult and lonely world,” said Christine, who helps explain the difficulties of navigating life, work, school, and church with an autistic child. Her husband Tim adds, “The pastor must model a heart of love for children who have autism. They demonstrate that through how they include them in various activities of church life.”

A reader highly recommends “Simply Classical” by Cheryl Swope about the need to classically educate special needs children and the need to address their hearts rather than just their behavior.
